Laura Bush on Myanmar

From CNN:

U.S. first lady Laura Bush blasted the military government, saying the lack of warning before the deadly cyclone hit was the latest example of "the junta's failure to meet its people's basic needs."

Ahh, yes, the pot calling the kettle black. Granted, Laura's always been a tool, but still...

I know...and the people are struggling under a brutal government who certainly could have done more. Her comment just hit me between the eyes in its irony, and I immediately believed that it was accompanied by her delusions of an extended warning period in which the people jumped into their private jets, BMWs, or at the very least, scooters, and retired to faraway hotels in an upscale, albeit perhaps inconvenient, evacu-vacation effort. And I saw red.

I feel like I have been on vacation or something.
Y'all did hear about the First Effete's Cyclone Press conference where she went way off topic to discuss...you guessed it: Jenna's wedding, like for minutes? It was like mutter-in-law Barb de Houston all over again. Be afraid. Be very afraid.
I have it on today's Ladda along with updates on Burma.

Y'all can also check out the Burma News Ladder where I am also an editor...and acutal editor I mean...erra...

People in Burma and around the region are begining to compare the two governments' disaster responses, to wit: the Junta in Burma and the Junta in Washington, with all seriousness.
